Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem sent a message to the Lebanese government on Saturday afternoon in which he attacked the framework agreement signed with Israel. He warned that the document "gives the Zionist entity legitimacy to annex the lands it occupied."

Qassem said the link made in the framework agreement between Hezbollah disarmament and an Israeli withdrawal is "a very dangerous proposal that crosses all red lines." According to him, "We told the authorities that direct negotiations are nothing but unnecessary concessions to Israel - because these are meetings intended to impose surrender to the demands of aggression and the dictates of Israel and the US."

The Hezbollah Secretary-General added that disarming the terrorist organization is a Lebanese internal matter that "the Israeli enemy has no business interfering in," and added that "no one has the right to deny the Lebanese their right to defend themselves and their land against an occupier. The enemy must withdraw."

Qassem called the agreement "humiliating" and also "a waiver of sovereignty," and added that it is "null and void." He called on the Lebanese government to implement the Iranian-American understandings memorandum, which spoke of 60 days of negotiations with a ceasefire on all fronts and included the establishment of a mechanism in cooperation with Qatar and Tehran to prevent escalation in Lebanon. "We will take all necessary measures and apply international and Arab pressure to ensure that the Israeli enemy implements the first clause of the understandings memorandum and withdraws from Lebanon," he said.

"We tell the Lebanese authorities, it is time for you to retract the sins that are destroying Lebanon. We are ready to cooperate and stand together for Lebanon's sovereignty, the liberation of its land, the expulsion of the Israeli occupier, the return of the prisoners (Lebanese), the return of the displaced, the rehabilitation of the country and reaching an agreement on a national security strategy," Qassem concluded. "We will continue as resistance on the ground to defeat the occupation. We did not leave the area under difficult circumstances and we will not leave it."

With yesterday's announcement in Washington of the framework agreement reached between Israel and Lebanon, Hezbollah MP Hassan Fadlallah announced that the terrorist organization rejects it: "We warn against the political and security track of the negotiations, which undermines Lebanon's sovereignty and causes dangerous internal divisions. We call on the authorities to abandon the path of direct negotiations and all the decisions they made against the people."

In response to Hezbollah not being a party to the agreement, its supporters went out at night (between Friday and Saturday) and rioted in Beirut, while waving the terrorist organization's flags, vandalizing property and clashing with Lebanese security forces. Among other things, a motorcycle convoy of Hezbollah supporters was documented on the way to Beirut airport, with its riders waving the terrorist organization's flags. According to reports in the country, the Lebanese army used tear gas against the rioters on a road in the airport area.
